3rd October 2021 - Session 26 - Arriving in Noanar's Hold - Brian

Dipple absolutely smashes the opening roll and nobody knows what that means but they are all sure it has affected the world around them in a profound way.  The innkeeper, perplexed by all this too, implores our heroes for help with the orcs and by a vote of 3:2 the heroes decide it's not worth their time.  They move on from Calling Horns.

Along the road, the team meets a travelling caravan man who offers to sell some stuff. He says that the town of Everlund has a frost giant called Harshnag helping defend it (He was a famous member of Force Grey, a notoriously destructive adventuring company that defended Waterdeep). He also tells the party that Nonars hold is in shite and the road there isn't much better. At night time it's even worse again. The team heads down the road anyway to find Nonar's hold at the edge of a big forest
At the Whitehart inn, the team leaves the horses with the stableboy who takes a shine to Prittstick and they agree to hang out together for the night.

The stableboy tells us that the keep is haunted and Amrath is the ghost wrangler up there. He seems to like bread being thrown at him. Cannot be sure that the kid isn't a duck. Avgar the innkeeper seems to be scared of the 5 hunt lords who haunt the keep. Turns out the harness we've been bringing is for 5 horses. Obviously, the hunt lords want to harness their 5 horses together to do something nefarious AF.
The team sits down for dinner and a few scoops before watching for the hunt. Kin and Bearnabus wake to see the hunt, on sick looking armoured horses, ride through the town before returning to the keep at 6am with a deer in tow. After a delicious breakfast, we head up to deliver the harness.

The keep itself is also rundown with the windows bricked up.
Amrath lets us in to deliver the harness. He's wearing a long chain (with a key on it) and after some devilish charm by Dipple, he lets us in to meet the wild hunt. There's 5 wights sitting around a table and a lot of bones on the floor (that are actually skeletal horses).

After multiple attacks, the team realises that fire is really effective so Dipple just fireballs everything including a surprisingly agreeable Dunbarr and a few now very dead horses. Grauple kills a wight and horse in one go with surprising ease. Not to be shown up, Dunbarr also kills a horse and a wight. Bearnabus also kills a wight. Kin decides he doesn't want to be left out of the fight and he opens a door. Dipple fireballs more wights, killing one of them. Grauple sheds a tear at killing another horse before adding the final wight to her kill count. The final horse tramples Dunbarr a little before getting its skull smashed in by Sharpie.

During the fight
Amrath runs away through one of the doors, locking it behind him. The party prepares to loot the ever loving shite out of the place
