28th October 2021 - Session 28 - What is happening on the Sword Coast? - Ciara

The gang decide to stay in the Shadowtop Cathedral to wait for Turlang, the area leader for the Emerald Enclave, to return.  Greenwhistle says he doesn't know when he will be back and says it could be anytime.  As Pritstick is still missing, they decide to stay around a while.  As night falls, they worry that he won't return so they put out some rations.

Late into the night, Kin spots Pritstick return back to the group.  As morning arrives, Turlang is still unaccounted for.  Without any other leads, the gang starts to talk to Greenwhistle who is still pining in the clearing.  He tells them that there is trouble with the giants and it's all over the sword coast.  The gang try and find out everything they can from Greenwhistle.  They learn there are 6 types of giants: cloud, fire, frost, stone, hill, storm.  They were once ruled over by a process called the ordning which determines the order of power in their society.  When the giant god saw them bicker and get lazy instead of fighting the coming of the Dragon Queen and defending the Sword coast, he disowned them.  Then Greenwhistle returned to his lamenting.

Dunbarr starts to get suspicious of the trees in the clearing surrounding them and goes up to investigate one.  He noticed that the tree was moving strangely and tried to mimic its actions and dance about.  Finally, he shakes the trees branch.

Suddenly the adventurers hear the rustling of trees and from the East, a treant enters the clearing (followed by some east "ent"ers jokes).  Before the treant enters, Graupel puts on the hat of disguise to dress as Amrath.  Dipple pulls out a weasel from his bag.  Within the treant branches, sits a bored-looking druid named Tharra,  Tharra does not seem like she wants to engage the party in conversation.  They do manage the get Turlang engaged.  However, he first believes that they are liars (he can see through Graupels hat of disguise and is very suspicious of them as he is a powerful wizard).  Eventually the party manage to bring him around.

Kin starts by giving an update on what happened in Nightstone and Turlang shares rumours of the damage the giants are doing in the sword coast and how he hasn't seen this type of damage in hundreds of years.

Turlang noticed that Graupel is actually a Uthgardt Barbarian.  He remembers that they have a shrine at the edge of High Forest a few days travel on from Everlund.  Graupel remembers that the Blue Bear tribe were in this area but her tribe hadn't heard from them in a long time.

The party then shared details of the events in Yartar and Dunbarr again tries to pawn off the aboleth mucous. Turlang has ancient memories of a creature that could produce that liquid but that was from a thousand years ago and he didn't remember much.  He thought it might have been called a Kraken.  He did agree to get it to Neverwinter for further investigation.

Turlang feels he doesn't have much more to share and the party have no more questions so he sends them on their way to Everlund.  They travel through the forest and arrive back out on the road soon.

As they were travelling along the road they hear the noise of a hill giant stomping along near some shrubs.  He is carrying and bloody bag by his side and being followed by two Orges.  The party start by hiding in the shrubbery but then jump out to interrupt the giant.  They ask him what he is doing and through some very stunted sentences, he conveys he is gathering food for one of the husbands of the hill giant Chief Guh.  All he cares about is gathering food cause being biggest is best!
