6th February 2022 - Session 37 – The path to the entrance of the Eye of the All-Father – Lisa

Party meets up with Harshnag who had fought two ice giants.

The party levels up to 8.

The party continues along a path slippery from ice and footfall.

Dipple is the sole member of the party that struggles with the icy path. He loses his footing causing him to fall into the snowmaking his rations damp. Dipple loses 50% of them.

Dipple self-inflicts fireball damage in an attempt to dry himself off from the fall.

Graupel gives Dipple oil so he can light his torch. The heat from the torch is swirled around Dipple using his mage hand spell.

The party enters a ravine with steep cliffs on either side. Before advancing the party takes a short rest.

The cliff faces have pockmarks along their surface. It appears like the surface has been hit by spear tips recently.

Bearnabus casts pass without trace and the party stealthily passes through the ravine unnoticed by the creatures shuffling nearby in the dark.

The party searches for a place to rest for the night.

The next day the weather is unusually calm and bright again. The party's travel progresses quickly during the day. Upon reaching the valley Harshnag starts travelling west.

Graupel chooses to put on the hat of disguise as the party approaches her homeland. She wisely chooses to look like the description of Kastan that Dunbarr gave to tease him. Graupel gives herself the fake name of B LePuarg. Graupel spelt backwards.

The party follows Harshnag up the cliffs, choosing to avoid Graupel's tribal home village. The party set up one last camp for the night before the final ascent.

Dunbarr and Bearnabus see an ice creature by the valley during the night and Kin loses 5 rations mysteriously overnight. It’s most likely a small animal stole them.

The ascent begins. High up the party encounters a large crevasse stretching almost 8 feet wide. Bearnbus polymorphs into a giant eagle and Dunbarr seizes the opportunity and ties himself to Bearnagull. Bearnabus and Dunbarr soar over the gap.

Graupel readies to leap across the gap but she loses her footing on the approach and starts to fall into the frozen abyss. Dunbarr uses his quick thinking to toss his axe, tied to a rope, at Graupel which pierces Graupel's skin. Dunbarr pulls Graupel up.

Kin jumps across the crevasse with ease.

Bearnabus brings Dipple across safely.

Harshnag steps across with ease.

They walk along a narrow ridge with a sheer drop on either side.

The party can see footprints ahead of them in the snow.

They approach a door with 6 pillars. Carvings are drawn into each pillar, representing each of the six giant types.

Behind them, a wide corridor leads up the mountain.

The walls have murals containing images of giants fighting dragons.

Handles for the door are 12ft above the floor. Dunbarr leaps up successfully grabbing the handles and opening the door. The party rolls stealth and enters the corridor.
