29th May 2022 - Session 45 - Morgur’s Mound - Matthew
It is daytime, around 6pm.
The party arrives at Morgur’s Mound. It sort of looks like a wingless dragon.
It feels like we are being watched.
The party decides they should explore the area. The cairns look like they have been recently disturbed. Bipeds likely involved, wearing shoes. Plundering and desecrating the area.
Some of the holes in the mound look like stuff has already been taken from it.
Dunbarr investigates the rock. Looks like the mound was manufactured rather than being a natural mound. Dunbarr starts digging.
Graupel starts digging in a dip in the middle but doesn’t find anything.
Rather than digging, Dipple fireballs some rocks out of the way and discovers a little pouch that contains Dust of Sneezing and Coughing. Potent stuff.
Kin and Bearnabus dig into the mound and come to a structured rock formation. We find a scroll that appears to be of level 3. Bearnabus finds a gold tooth of a fire giant. Once the tooth was touched, a great rumbling was heard.
The cairns move apart to form thunder beasts' skeletons. They roar and a roar is heard back.
The battle begins. Dunbarr aims to lure the thunder beasts into the cave and trap them.
Graupel is fighting with one of them when a wyvern lands in front of her and swipes its claws at her but misses the attack, however, the wyvern's stinger flicks around and smashes right into Graupel.
Fighting of the Thunder Beasts continues with some good hits by the party. Dunbarr manages to cave in the tunnel trapping two of the Thunder beasts inside.
After a hard-fought battle with the wyvern, Graupel gets the final hit, taking it down for good.
During the battle, Dipple places the immovable rod on top of the golden tooth. This confuses the Thunder Beasts.
The battle with the remaining thunder beasts is swiftly taken care of, with only pieces of them remaining on the battlefield.
